Susan was born and raised in Dix Hills, New York. At an early age she loved to draw and received an art award. As a teen, she studied painting at the Art League of Long Island. A high school senior yearbook photograph captured her painting a large wall mural, with ‘artistic student’ in the caption. At the same time, she was intrigued with physics and had a desire to learn how physical things worked in the world.
Susan earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Rutgers University and a Master in Science in Electrical Engineering from Santa Clara University. After a successful thirty-three-year aerospace career, Susan felt compelled to focus on art.
Her passion for art from her youth resurfaced. Susan built upon her knowledge with continuing education in drawing and painting from internationally recognized artists, Nadia Vinogradova, Cuong Nguyen, and Halcyon H. Teed, and art studies at Foothill College. Susan began showing her work at juried exhibitions in 2017 and became an award winning artist.
